How TerraClean Works

TerraClean is a technology developed by a group of scientists in Canada. They were commissioned by the Canadian government to develop a zero emissions engine. They did manage to achieve this goal, but the technology involved and the fuel used to achieve this would necessitate an increase to the price of the vehicles, due to the need to retro fit a "reactor" which molecularly alters the state of the fuel. That increase in cost coupled with the cost of the highly refined fuel, developed for the project, which would retail at over £40 per litre rendered the concept non-viable to introduce into the cars motorist drive.

All engineering projects demand close attention to the condition of the test vehicles being used. The engineering inspections carried out in this project clearly demonstrated that the process was not only not developing carbon build up, usually associated with all internal combustion engines, in fact it was removing pre-existing carbon previously built up in the engines as well as other deposits which usually build up particularly from use of lower grade/quality fuels.

So whilst the Zero Emissions vehicle project was set aside the technology was taken in a different direction and the concept of TerraClean Decarbonisation equipment was developed. This has proven very successful with over 13,000 machines in operation in the North American market, mainly in franchised dealer workshops. Whilst quite new to the UK marketplace already the technology is proving its value to private owners and fleet operators alike, who are both saving money by reduced fuel costs and lowering their emissions. Essentially by taking a vehicle back to its level of cleanliness not long after being new the efficiency and performance are improved.

For more information on having your vehicle Terracleaned please use the contact form or give us a call to discuss your vehicle and the options available to you.

The benefits of the of a Terraclean Fuel System Service:

-Improved MPG (up to 16%)
-More responsive acceleration and restored performance
-Smoother Idle and improved throttle response
-Cleaner emissions
-Extended component life such as Catalytic converters (saving money on expensive replacements)

Petrol Terraclean Servicing

Petrol Terraclean Servicing involves disconnecting the Vehicles fuel supply and running the engine from the Terraclean equipment. Terraclean Servicing is priced according to engine size.

Pricing is as Follows:

2 litre and Under Vehicles - £110

2- 4 Litre Engined Vehicles-  £132

Above 4 litre Petrol engines -£170

There are a few petrol engined vehicles which cannot be Terracleaned these are the following:

GDI- Mitsubishi's/Volvo's and KE-Jetronic  Injection Systems cannot have a Terraclean fuel servce but can still have an Induction service.

Diesel Terraclean Servicing

Diesel Terracleans are similar to Petrol and include the isolation of the vehicle fuel supply usually by connecting the vehicles feed and return together to loop fuel system. The vehicle is then run solely from the Terraclean fuel service equipment. The Diesel service is time dependant rather then consumable so will always take at least 1 hour to complete.
Diesel Terraclean Service are also classified on engine size:

2 litre and Under Vehicles - £110

2- 4 Litre Engined Vehicles-  £132

Above 4 litre Petrol engines -£170

For commercial vehicle pricing please use the contact form to request an estimate as HGV's etc use a modified process and hence have different pricing.

DPF and EGR Cleaning Solutions

DPF (Diesel Particulate) filters are an ever increasing theme in modern diesel vehicles with issues. Problems can be caused by a number of thingsranging from driver error up to a mechanical/electrical fault.

J L Performance can clean DPF filters that are saturated with Soot on site if the ASH mass is excessive replacement or refurbishment are the only options. DPF removal is now illegal and could land you in hot water so cleaning and proper maintenance of the system is the best approach.

DPF Soot Cleans Starting at £249.99

Refurbishments £299.99 + Labour to remove and refit.

EGR /Turbo Cleaning

Exhaust Gas Recirculation systems recycle burnt exhaust gas back into the engines air intake to reduce burn temperatures to help monitor and reduce NOx (oxides of nitrogen) emissions. Reduced NOx emissions is a requirement to meet current European Emissions regulations. EGR systems transfer carbon rich exhaust gas back into the air intake which leaves deposits along the egr system track eventually causing restrictions and issue with performance due to sticking components. We can also use this method to clean sticking Turbo Veins.

EGR/Turbo Cleans Starting at  £299.99
